Bicycle tours on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi - exploring traditional villages and culture of Sulawesi, Indonesia
The bicycle tours on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi are adventure tours. They're mostly in a non-tourist, traditional village environment. Every effort is made to provide riders with an 'as it is' experience.
An optional Yoga class is held after the day's ride and before dinner. Swimming is available most days.
Your Australian tour leader Colin Freestone is bi-lingual and bi-cultural.
Bahasa Indonesia instruction is integrated naturally into the rhythm of each day.
We have four planned tours of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi during 2010 - 2012: South South Sulawesi in July 2010; Toraja in November 2010; Central Sulawesi in March 2011; and North Sulawesi 2012.

South South Sulawesi Cycle Tour July 2010
This cycle tour takes place in the mountainous southern part of the province of South Sulawesi. The bike ride includes fabulous waterfalls at Malino and Bantaeng, white sands Bira beach and off-shore islands, Tana Beru, home to Bugis wooden sailing boat (Pinisi) builders. We believe this is one of the really great cycling tours anywhere, and should not be missed.

This cycle tour of Sulawesi, Indonesia, starts on the west coast Palu, with the cycling route taking in spectacular dive resorts at Tanjung Karang and Togian Islands, pristine Lake Poso, mysterious megalithic stone statues at Ba'da and the scenic water cascades. Your cycling tour finishes at Ampana, and this is followed by boat to Togian and Gorontalo - the city overlooked by a 15th century Portuguese fort.

North Sulawesi cycle tour 2012
The 500 km route for this cycle tour on Sulawesi, Indonesia, starts in North Sulawesi's provincial capital of Manado (just near world-famous underwater national park at Bunaken) and finishes in historic Gorontalo (a boat ride away from the spectacular coral Togian islands). We cycle past living volcanoes, thermal pools, scenic Lake Tondano and will enjoy hundreds of kilometres of palm-fringed and mountainous coastline, all of it untouched by tourism. The culture of Manado and environ has been shaped by an enduring Dutch influence and Christianity while Islam has strongly influenced the culture of Gorontalo and environs.
