Sun 4 Group assembles in Makassar. Accommodation in international standard hotel by seaside and near traditional shops. Swimming and yoga.
Mon 5 Sight see Makassar. Cultural orientation for trip. Accommodation in international standard hotel by seaside and near traditional shops. Swimming and yoga.
Tues 6 Cycle Makassar - 35k - Takalar (light day). Flat terrain. Ricefields, fishponds, through coastal villages. Accommodation in commercial travelers’ wisma. Yoga. Coast is 10k away for swimming.
Wed 7 Cycle Takalar - 53k - Jeneponto (medium). Hilly terrain through dry sugar palm ‘horse and corn’ countryside of Jeneponto regency. Accommodation in newly built modern hotel 100 metres from beach. Swimming and yoga.
Thur 8 Cycle Jeneponto - 62k - Bulukumba (medium). Along coast and across rice fields, past local salt making industry, to the centre of South Sulawesi’s traditional wooden sailing ship building industry. Family style guesthouse. Yoga.
Fri 9 Cycle Bulukumba - 40k - Bira (light). Opportunities to see local sailing boat building industry. Accommodation in traditional cliffside cottages overlooking white sand beach. Swimming and yoga.
Sat 10 Rest and recreation at Bira Beach. Accommodation in traditional cliffside cottages overlooking white sand beach. Swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving. Yoga.
Sun 11 Cycle Bira - 91k - Sinjai (heavy). A challenging start up a huge ascent followed by flat terrain along coast and rice fields then road winds and ascends through pretty villages and ascends into terraced valley terrain crossing many bridges. Accommodation in comfortable commercial travelers’ hotel. Yoga.
Mon 12 Cycle Sinjai - 93k - Palette (medium). Road is mostly across coastal rice growing plains. Palette, on the coast, is 13k from the large town of Watampone. Accommodation is in modern bungalows overlooking coastal cliffs. Yoga on jetty and ocean swimming.
Tues 13 Cycle Palette - 83k - Sengkang (medium). A mostly flat route finishing in the cool, hilly and scenic silk weaving town of Sengkang.
Wed 14 Rest and recreation. Sengkang is located on the shores of Lake Tempe where one can take a boat to see the floating villages. It is also a centre of traditional Buginese dance and music, silk worm culture and silk weaving.
Thur 15 Cycle Sengkang - 100k - Buntu Matabing (heavy). An early morning start. Mostly flat terrain through small rice growing villages. Accommodation in traditional cottages overlooking the beach. Ocean swimming and yoga.
Fri 16 Cycle Buntu Matabing - 82k - Palopo (medium). Initially undulating with high mountains as scenic backdrop, road affords good views of coastal plain. Palopo is a lively Indonesian cosmopolitan town. Accommodation will be in the centre of the town.
Sat 17 Cycle Palopo - 32k - Puncak (heavy). The road winds itself dramatically into forested mountain valleys that will provide sufficient challenge for most cyclists. The simple fairly isolated accommodation overlooks huge mountain valleys. Yoga.
Sun 18 Cycle Puncak - 52k - Batutumongga (heavy). The route initially ascends and then descends into the valley of Rantepao then ascends again steeply through traditional Toraja villages affording fabulous views of the terraced valley sides. Accommodation in traditional Toraja houses in a coolish climate. Yoga.
Mon 19 Cycle Batutumongga - 24k - Rantepao - (light). Route descends from the mountain village of Batutumonga to the town of Rantepao. Accommodation will be in a modern Torajan style hotel. Yoga and swimming.
Tues 20 Rest and recreation. Time to explore the animistic Torajan culture (with its colourfull rituals), enjoy white water rafting, trekking, mountain biking or just resting in the cool upland climate.
Wed 21 Rest and recreation. Time to explore the animistic Torajan culture (with its colorful rituals), enjoy white water rafting, trekking, mountain biking or just resting in the cool upland climate.
Thurs 22 Rest and recreation. Time to explore the animistic Torajan culture (with its colourfull rituals), enjoy white water rafting, trekking, mountain biking or just resting in the cool upland climate.
Fri 23 Rest and recreation. Time to explore the animistic Torajan culture (with its colorful rituals), enjoy white water rafting, trekking, mountain biking or just resting in the cool upland climate.
Sat 24 Cycle Rantepao - 96k - Enrekang (medium). Route weaves its way downwards along the sides of forested valleys and passes through picturesque mountain villages. Accommodation is by the side of a river in the quiet town of Enrekang. There is swimming in a waterfall 4k from town. Yoga.
Sun 25 Cycle Enrekang - 91k - Batu-Batu (medium - heavy). Route is mostly undulating and ends at the Rumah Adat (traditional Buginese house) in Batu-Batu. Accommodation will be on the floor in traditional Buginese houses.
Mon 26 Cycle Batu-Batu - 14k - Lejje pools (easy). Road winds its way through rice growing hamlets descending, rapidly in some places, towards the (very) hot spring pools of Lejje valley set among tall trees and big hills. This will be a lazy day. Accommodation is in simple stilted houses built on the valley sides. Swimming and aqua yoga.
Tues 27 Cycle Lejje - 44k - Watamsoppeng (medium). The initial section contains numerous very sharp ascents that will have most cyclists working through the gears. The road from Batu-Batu to the pretty town Watamsoppeng is undulating. Accommodation will be in a commercial travelers’ wisma.
Wed 28 Cycle Watamsoppeng - 60k - Kecamatan Malawa (medium). Initially flat, the route descends rapidly winding its way into the Camba. Swimming in the Atenai river 20k from Watamsoppeng will provide relief. Hot springs near end of journey. Accommodation will be in a villa located, away from town, on a mountaintop. Yoga while enjoying the valleys below.
Thurs 29 Cycle Kecamatan Mallawa - 67k - Bantimurung (heavy). The road continues to wind in and around magnificent valleys and mountains finishing at the Bantimurung waterfall. Accommodation will be in simple cottages within earshot of the waterfall. Waterfall pools for swimming and Yoga.
Fri 30 Cycle Bantimurung - 43k - Makassar (easy). Participants will probably like to enjoy the morning around the pools and rain forest of Bantimurung and leisurely cycle into Makassar after lunch.

Makassar. This city offers the visitor opportunities for international food, rest and shopping for wooden and spice specialties of eastern Indonesia.
